So of course SQL server service wouldn’t start (happy sysadmin day to you as well) after poking around I tried to fire up enterprise manager and it complained about a missing msvcp71.dll
What the heck!
So luckily the old SP4 folder was on the server on loe and behold it had a copy of of msvcp71.dll in it. Copied it over to the c:\windows\system32 and then it works… windows… go figure.
If you need a copy of msvcp71.dll you can get it here (if you trust random internet strangers…) but hey I just uploaded it from my box 🙂
